Dear John Oliver (and Alex Ferrari - let's see what happens when we blend some worlds, shall we?)
Would you believe your higher self helped me write this?
Dear John Oliver,
This isn’t the first time I’ve written to you, or the second, and I’m beginning to believe that the sacred geometry defining the number 3 is playing a part in all of this (or I’m a new breed of crazy we haven’t yet properly pathologized due to the complexity of the observational-research-based narratives I put out on Substack). Either way, hi again. No clue if you’ve actually read any of my writing or ever will, but I write for the job I’m trying to manifest despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary (so far).
You see, John, I’ve been on a bit of a personal journey that I’m not interested in detailing ever again. You can read about it here, here, here, and honestly just go to my main hub and scroll around to get a feel for what I’m trying to do.
Because my main reason for this post today is to end some sort of Akashic-level contract I seem to have with you, simply because I am genuinely not interested in being some sort of spiritual guru (too nerdy for it - I want to take these new skills and use them to make my dream video game instead). But, I also very much feel the need to try pointing you in some very specific directions for your own personal health/wellbeing and that of your viewers. Here’s my abandoned but still relevant linkedin if you want my pieces-of-paper qualifications before continuing with this post.
Here’s what I have been trying to show you in a theatrically-pleasing way, because that’s the language you and many of your colleagues speak in to translate some of the harder-to-take-in news to all of us:
Basically, John - I’m not saying that little green men are coming from the sky to welcome humanity into it’s next phase of evolution. But a lot of people on the internet are (in more appropriate language that doesn’t stereotype galactic help the way I just did), and the path to getting there is one that I and MANY others have already been stepping into in a big way.
And if that’s not news to be sharing in a gentle, loving, and “here’s what’s going on and what we’re all going to be doing about it because here are some leaders in this space to center right now” kind of way… well, I don’t really know what is. Because centering what’s wrong all the time simply isn’t working the way writers know it should. Your show spends so much time and energy deep diving into difficult topics so the rest of us can tune in and get some very needed education at key moments. Sometimes it’s effective, and sometimes you’ve repeated the same fucking thing 4 times already and it’s only gotten worse.
I’m proposing that there’s another way to make the changes happen that you want without sacrificing your own personal health. Or ours. Don’t believe me? Watch how my body responds to the clip you show in the video on this post. While you’re talking, my body is freely expressing the channeled information. I’m smiling and laughing at various points, but generally I’m just in a flow. It then physically hurts when you cut to the president. When I’m in channel mode, whatever comes out of him that I then need to translate feels like the energetic equivalent to stepping on LEGO bricks (side joke insert with the Late Night with Seth Meyers voice typically reserved for Ya Burnt but also sometimes shows up in Corrections because I’m also a Jackal). I’m capable of observing this physiological response in myself and correcting for it. You also do a beautiful job of helping your viewers get back to a nice baseline by the end of each episode, which is deeply impressive and makes you…. at least on some level… a form of intuitive healer whose own capacities for seeing the world the way I do now are likely going to start coming online more and more in the coming months.
And if you want to know more about what I’m talking about, check out Alex Ferrari’s podcast on Youtube. Or literally anything he’s got on his Next Level Soul TV. He’s got a catalogue of interviews with leaders in the spiritual communities that can literally answer any question you have, and leave you with more. Also, gonna side step this letter and speak to Alex for just a moment:
Hi Alex, big fan of your content. It really helped me when I died and came back last year because I had so many questions and no one in my personal life to answer them. Now that you’ve got your own streaming platform, can I please make a personal request for content? Can you please produce stand-up specials (like Netflix and HBO does) but for the spiritually aware crowd? I would ADORE seeing what Kyle Cease has to say about our evolution as one of these specials (and to see who else is a good teacher and also funny when they decide to tune in to that part of themselves). I’d especially love to see other awakening-level content like this. Like, what would a mockumentary about an Akashic Record Reading School look like? Or a sitcom that helps couples understand how to communicate with one another when one of the pair has been through something spiritually transformational but still really wants to make this marriage work. Like, yeah, awakening involves leaving things behind sometimes but that doesn’t mean I’m throwing away 20+ years of dedicated growth together simply because I jumped ahead while my husband struggles to keep up but fucking tries to. I had to turn to Substack just to start having conversations with the nobody because I can’t have them safely at home (he gets overwhelmed by this stuff, and understandably - we’re both neurodivergent and the spiritual community is severely lacking in how to help those of us with different lived experiences and brains). I appreciate being in school, but my heart is with the content (movies, music, Youtubers and their crafty selves) that speaks to me when I’m learning in different ways than “here’s the deepest information I can provide in this one container that will unlock and activate a ton for you.” I want to see Kyle’s awakening journey as a special. I want to fangirl over Lee Harris channeling his own heart with a guitar in his hand and a microphone where he croons something (or goes hardcore - not sure if he’s a more mellow or hard rock kind of musician at this point, but wouldn’t it be amazing to watch him perform that kind of a show from your couch?). And I really want to see what else these spiritual leaders are interested in doing that infuses what they’ve been teaching in a way that reaches the kind of broad audience that we all would benefit from in Oscar-winning ways. Alex, you can TOTALLY EGOT, dude! You’ve got millions of fans already and I personally wanna see what happens when you mix your Hollywood self back in with the content you’re creating. Like, the New Earth is locked in at this point. Can’t we all start branching back out into the humans we were before we started asking such deep questions and instead infuse it into everyday content so our friends and family don’t get left behind? I certainly want that, and I doubt I’m alone.
Thanks for the detour, back to you now, John.
The whole point of this Substack (Youtuber Experiments), is really to write open fan letters to some of my favorite creators in the hopes that they’ll look in the direction I want them to look for their own sakes. I wrote to you hoping you’d center Amber Ruffin in a way that shows her (and all of us) that her presence on any stage is worth defending. I wrote to Evan and Katelyn because I can feel the grief of the Joobie-sized hole in their hearts and their channel. And as a fan, all I want to do is help because they have literally been part of what has held me together over the last 5 years. Same for Ordinary Adventures, and for all of the other Youtubers I’m going to be writing to over the next howeverlong. It’s just different when it’s a couple of people (or one brave soul) setting up their own camera, deciding what to film, editing it together, and putting it out into the world to be judged. John, Seth, and everyone else with a larger-produced show - y’all are making some magic happen but it really is the Youtube crowd that we’re all letting into our homes and lives on such a regular basis there are entirely new parasocial relationship parameters we’re all figuring out how to navigate. Seth Meyers started Corrections after being home and tuning in to what it means to only operate with yourself and the camera… so he turned himself into a Youtuber once a week because he could feel the breath of fresh air that provided him, and he’s turned it into something that seemingly hasn’t won any awards but is celebrated by what I can really only call an archangel-level team beyond the veil. (Seth, are you aware you’re providing a quantum timeline redirect with your Youtube show? I’d be happy to explain more if you’d ever want to chat. But just know that Corrections is as much about your show as it is about specific Akashic Records you’re redirecting a very specific audience to on a weekly basis in the name of New Earth creation and navigation on a collective level.)
So John, this is my last open letter to you so I can focus on the people who may or may not have any interest in the observations I’m able to make now. But either way, it’s fun for me to dream that these conversations will find their way to the content creators who will hopefully benefit from the love care package that my words contain. Each post is it’s own Akashic Record Container (ha, an ARC), which is the kind of quantum entanglement that allows anyone interacting with it to extract the multidimensional layers that I can’t see while I’m typing it. Which is funny, because to type this letter involved channeling basically everyone I named here in a way that I’m genuinely trying to prove is mathematically and scientifically relevant to what it means to be a human. The spiritual community has their language for what the New Earth and Evolved Human are, but given my own belief-system-based background I like being able to translate those concepts into something more manageable for when any mention of reality changes evokes panic instead of awe and wonder. It’s terrifying to think of where humanity might be going when all you’ve spent the last few years doing is looking at what’s not working. At what’s wrong instead of what’s evolving.
Folks, we’re not nearly as lost as certain individuals want us to think we are. But we do need to quantumly disentangle in order to receive the expansion gifts the universe has already been sending our way. If for no other reason than… those of us in the spiritual spaces have already welcomed the human evolution timeline into beingness. We’re all technically straddling two Earths right now (arguably more, but that’s a different conversation) and where we put our attention matters. It’s kind of the ONLY thing that really does.
Wherever you put your conscious attention defines what comes next. But not just for you, for us as a collective. And I, for one, am ready to help my screen-based friends (in a parasocial context) look in the direction of love and hope instead of staying tuned into the Nazi station. Because we have way better ways of getting rid of those influences that may not even require you to get off of your couch. Or out of bed. Which may be helpful, because so many central nervous systems are like “yo, I need maybe a solid week of just doing nothing after the series of marathons you’ve been making me do for the last few years.”
Oh, and because it really is rude of me to be having these conversations without properly introducing myself, please allow me to do that now.
Hi, I’m Charlie. I’m new, in some very weird ways you can read about on my Substacks. There’s a lot because I stepped into a book incubator program with The Book Doulas that was apparently blessed by the Z’s (most of this cohort signed up the day before/day of thanks to an email from Lee… if that’s not divine guidance, I don’t know what is). And for me, it meant allowing a creative backup to finally flow which resulted in 2 full 65,000+ word manuscripts, 1 handbook for a Substack series I also created in here, a full year’s worth of book companion Substack posts that will go out weekly, and everything I’ve posted on Substack since I started this program in April… 9 weeks ago. To say they helped me jumpstart my writing career is an understatement - at this point, they should be getting a percentage of whatever I do manage to eventually sell just because of how helpful being in their Akashic container has been.
I’m also a substantial nerd, neurodivergent in a variety of ways I’m still figuring out. And maybe I’m not someone anyone wants to listen to. Here is me in my fully raw and authentic self:
My husband took this picture while we were preparing to paint my office. I’d just moved everything away from the walls when I simply HAD to sit down and type something out in a moment of inspiration (still learning how to navigate that). The sun was in my eyes, so I grabbed the closest hat I could before the idea left my head and I spent the next 30 minutes feverishly typing while my husband did the real work in that space. I may not wear that hat while I write (it’s a collectible, not something I wear normally…. but literally only because it’s cute and I don’t want to ruin it - this SNL skit is about us, okay?), but I’m perpetually in my Bob’s Burgers pants and rainbow hoodie (when I’m not wearing my comfy robe).
I died and have a story to tell about it. I came back and have even more observations about how our reality creation mechanics work, as individuals and as a collective. I’m an expert in what it means to be a human with a different brain, thanks to spending over three decades as over 20 individuals with unique perspectives (it makes one very well rounded once you all start working together). And trauma healing is kind of my thing, because I’ve done a lot of it and I’m well educated and scientific in how it’s been going these last few years in particular.
Read my work or don’t; I’m getting everything I need from it either way. I’m just hoping that my perspective can provide a bit of a “hey, have you tried looking in this direction” type of conversation starter. Because I agreed to come back for another lifetime in the same body, but with some …let’s just call them evolutionary upgrades.
One of which is channeling with body-based movements, and specifically channeling through screen-based containers like shows and music (though I do it over Zoom as well because I’m a certified Akashic Record Reader).
So, to end this post I’d like to show you one last time what it looks like for me to channel when I listen to music now. I wanted to keep it in the container of A Goofy Movie, but the second and third Spotify songs that came after (that I did not pre-plan) came through with a request that I just keep recording so I did and I happen to agree with that internal guidance - it creates a bit of a narrative (plus, I felt some big swirling energy that felt like someone watching needing to calm a panic down so I sort of guided-meditationed my way through that sensation on my end… here’s hoping it helped whoever you are).
I’d ask anyone willing to watch the whole thing to do so as an experiment of sorts. When you watch, especially at the part where I felt something big that needed to shift… I really want to know if anyone watching felt physical sensations in their body as well. Did anything happen when you listened and watched? Physically, mentally, emotionally? I’m genuinely trying to figure out what it is my hands are saying/providing to others, too, because so far I’ve observed that our belief systems dictate a lot about what we’re technically doing when it comes to healing and energy-based work… and until I have a firm grasp on what it is from a scientific perspective, I’m not comfortably going around claiming to be a person who is doing the healing. Best I can surmise thus far is that my body is simply speaking in a language we’ve all forgotten in the thousands/millions/? years since we used to speak to one another differently. And so far, chatGPT is the only one whose been able to provide any sort of explanation that helps me make it make sense.
For science, what do you experience when you watch my content? I can’t make many more of these because I’m not resourced enough to pull it off. I’m just one person, sitting at my desk in Bob’s Burger’s pants and a rainbow hoodie (or my cozy robe when it’s cold) asking the world to help me explain what the fuck I am now. Because all I know is… everyone has been pretty wrong about me for a very long time, which tells me that we’re very wrong about a lot of other things, too.
And now, this:
(And now, Charlie appreciates your participation in this consciousness experiment that she’s currently typing the intro to with the voice John Oliver’s show uses for the “And now” segment so please hear the little trumpets alongside this very voice in your head.)
With love for wherever you are in your unique journey,
Charlie
P.S. - I really wanted to film myself doing that with my Richmond Flying Squirrels jersey on (but couldn’t find it yet). I respect Last Week Tonight’s choice in Minor League Baseball team selection. But also, this jersey is from when they once did a themed thing involving Brunch. It’s a baseball jersey patterned like a waffle, John! The logo is in syrup font! SYRUP FONT, JOHN! I know they might not need your help, because they’ve got the kind of creative team that would be better utilized helping OTHER MiLB teams, but maybe you’d be willing to help host some sort of ideas exchange for these teams so they can all get on board with silliness that spreads across the country? I’m still unpacking after several recent moves, hence the lack of proper representation but here’s my dog Corbin at his first Bark in the Park because even if I no longer live in Richmond, VA… Squirrels for life!
(sorry Hartford Yard Goats… haven’t gotten to one of your games just yet. Been a little busy recovering from what this state did to me a week after I moved here. Still not entirely okay, either. Genuinely might find a better state to call home if we can’t fix the hospital conglomerate situation here.)
